Science is stagnating, and I believe artificial intelligence can help reignite progress. However, this technology isn’t without risks. Imagine a deer in a forest fleeing hunters—it knows the threat they pose. But what if a developer with no ill intent arrives to clear the forest for a shopping mall? The deer can’t foresee this danger. Humanity could face a similar scenario with advanced AI, as its goals may not align with ours. In this article, I explore how we can prepare for AI’s transformative impact while mitigating its potential threats.
