The Chinese chatbot DeepSeek has surprised the world. Its development reportedly cost only a fraction of what American tech companies spend on creating AI tools. It is still a so-called large language model, essentially a large neural network similar to what powers ChatGPT. However, it is also enriched with a 'thinking' component, meaning it generates various options and then selects one—something these more advanced models do. These are the topics I discussed in my interview with Český rozhlas.
