IDC Manufacturing Forum

In 2024, Czech industry faced a fresh set of challenges, demanding both thoughtful and decisive action. Persistent inflation left manufacturing firms grappling with high energy costs, while the strained labor market, fluctuating demand for goods, and evolving regulatory requirements—particularly those related to environmental sustainability—posed ongoing obstacles. Additionally, heightened competition among global regions, notably Europe, the USA, China, and India, intensified the pressure on domestic firms.

In this complex environment, artificial intelligence emerged as a focal point of discussion. The central question: is AI a savior or a threat? This question guided my recent conference presentation, where we explored AI’s potential to offer solutions to these pressing issues, as well as the associated risks that may yet be underestimated.
